Re: [listener] one file per hour
Is there any chance I'd be able to take a look at that logging package?
The time a sound was recorded isn't very important to me. "Within the
hour of.." is fine by me. Although, one solution to that would be a
separate text log file. I have seen VOX software do this before.
While we are on the subject of sound, I am looking for a
driver/module/program that will allow me to open /dev/dsp twice (for
reading). Any suggestions?
I'd like to run a MDC-1200 decoder and a VOX recorder at the same time.
I don't really want to run ALSA, although it may come down to trying to
get that thing working again, with OSS support.

Quoting Ted Maczulat <va7tm@shaw.ca>:
I would have to look at all the details but you could create a script
that would collect all the files for a given hour and create one
file, then delete the individual files. The problem with that is you
loose the time data as to when a particular sound was recorded.
email me off list and I can give you some suggestions. I have
created a radio logging package for the local fire department using
listener as a core.
