The listener package can record 2 separate channels
of audio at the same time, and completely independent of each
other.
What I have done is I have 2 VHF radios programmed
for two different radio channels. (Main Dispatch and Tactical Channel) The
radios are connected to the left and right channels of the line-in connection on
the sound card with a "Y" cable.
The "listenersoundpipe" splits the left and right
channel into two separate audio streams. Then two separate listener
processes record each stream independently. The resulting audio files are
saved in separate directories.
To use separate inputs requires that you be able to
switch the mixer capture port back and forth between the two inputs because it
can only record from one input at a time. By using one input (any of the
available can be used) and feeding the two audio channels into the left and
right channel input and then using "listenersoundpipe" to separate the audio
streams once they are digitized allows two independent recorders on one sound
card. Two sound cards equals 4 channels, 3 sound cards equals 6 channels
etc.
You must start the processes in the correct
sequence to make it work.
If you would like I can send you my setup
files.
