Just as a side node, the latest of multitail is packages for
openSUSE and SUSE Linux Enterprise here:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=multitail&project=server%3Amonitoring

(as well as RHEL 5+6, Fedora 14+15+16 and CentOS 5+6, but I
don't know whether RHEL, CentOS or Fedora users use those
packages)

The resulting packages end up in RPM repositories here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/monitoring/

It is an additional repository, but that is also the package
that is pushed to each openSUSE and SLE release (once a new
openSUSE release is done, as we typically freeze versions of
packages for openSUSE/SLE releases).

Our patches and everything else that is used to build the
package is here:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=multitail&project=server%3Amonitoring

I've added a patch that replaces legacy socket creation code
with getaddrinfo, which supports IPv6 amongst other things:
https://api.opensuse.org/public/source/server:monitoring/multitail/multitail-getaddrinfo.patch

cheers
